1. A short conversation & Pronunciation
V-을 테니까/ㄹ 테니까


- 나나: 미소 , 내일 지안 집들이에 사갈 거예요?’
            (Miso, what are you going to buy for Jian's housewarming tomorrow?)

- 미소: 글쎄요. 휴지랑 세제 중에 무엇을 살까 고민 중이에요.
            (Well, I'm thinking about buying either toilet paper or detergent.)
- 나나: 그러면 제가 휴지를
살 테니까 미소 씨가 세제를 사는 게 어때요?
            (Then I'll buy toilet paper, so why don't you buy some detergent, Miso?)

The grammar we're going to learn today is ' 테니까.'

2. 용법
V-을 테니까/ㄹ 테니까

- '-(으)ㄹ 테니까' attaches after a verb stem.


- It is a combination of ending 'ㄹ/을', the bound noun  '터', and '이니까.'


- As an expression, in front of '-(으)ㄹ 테니까' indicates the speaker's will to do or do something.


- It is usually followed by a command to the listener what to do, or a request or suggestion to do something.



- Example Sentences
✎ 제가 휴지를 살 테니까 미소 씨가 세제를 사는 게 어때요? (사다 +ㄹ 테니까)     (I'll buy tissues, so why don't you buy some detergent, Miso?)

V-을 테니까/ㄹ 테니까

- Here, '살 테니까' is a combination of the verb '사다' and 'ㄹ 테니까.'


- Nana is going to buy toilet paper as a housewarming gift. And she suggests Miso buy detergent. In this case, you can use ‘ㄹ 테니까’ after the verb '사다.' That indicates Nana's will. '살 테니까’


- What does Nana do? - Buying toilet paper. - She is willing to buy toilet paper. 휴지를 살 테니까


- What should Miso do? Nana thinks that it would be good if Miso buys detergent. So she suggests that '미소 씨가 세제를 사는 어때요?'


✎ 제가 작은 조각을
먹을 테니까 미소 씨가 큰 조각을 드세요. (먹다 + 을 테니까)     (
I'll eat a small piece, please eat a large piece, Miso.)
V-을 테니까/ㄹ 테니까

- Here, '먹을 테니까' is a combination of the verb '먹다' and '을 테니까.'


- Nana and Miso are eating pizza. And there are two pieces left. One is small and one is large. Nana will eat a small piece. And she suggests Miso eat a large piece. In this case, you can use ‘을 테니까’ after the verb '먹다' that indicates what Nana will do.


- It is talking about Nana's will. '먹을 테니까'


- What does Nana do? She will eat a small piece. She is willing to eat a small piece. ‘제가 작은 조각을 먹을 테니까’


- What should Miso do? She thinks that it would be good if Miso eats a large piece. So she suggests,  '미소 씨가 큰 조각을 드세요.'



3. 결합정보
- When a verb stem has the final consonant, ' 테니까' is used. (1) Final Consonant O: -을 테니까
- 먹다 + 을 테니까 → 먹을 테니까 - 읽다 + 을 테니까 → 읽을 테니까
- When a verb stem does not have the final consonant, '- 테니까' is used.
(2) Final Consonant X: -ㄹ 테니까 - 가다 + ㄹ 테니까 →
갈 테니까 - 보다 + ㄹ 테니까 → 볼 테니까
-When a verb stem ends with the final consonant ‘ㄹ’, delete ‘’ and attach ‘- 테니까’. (3) Final Consonant ㄹ: ㄹ 탈락 + ㄹ 테니까 - 만들다 (ㄹ 탈락) + ㄹ 테니까 → 만들 테니까 - 놀다 (ㄹ 탈락) + ㄹ 테니까 → 놀 테니까

만들 테니까 나나 씨는 청소를 해 주세요. (만들다 (ㄹ탈락) + ㄹ 테니까)     (I'll cook the food, so Nana, please clean it up.)
✎ 제가 물건을 받아
놓을 테니까 걱정하지 마세요. (놓다 + 을 테니까)     ( I'll get the parcel, so don't worry.)

V-을 테니까/ㄹ 테니까

- 나나: 미소 씨, 우리 여행 준비를 어떻게 하면 좋을까요?             (Miso, how should we prepare for our trip?)
- 미소: 제가 비행기 표를
알아볼 테니까 나나 씨가 호텔 좀 알아봐 줄래요?             (I'm going to get a plane ticket, so can you find a hotel?)
- 나나: 좋아요. 그럼 제가 호텔을
예약할 테니까 미소 씨가 비행기 표를 예약해 주세요.             (Then I'll book a hotel, please book the plane ticket.)

-Miso decided to book a plane ticket and Nana booked a hotel. The grammar we've learned today is 알아볼 테니까 and 예약할 테니까
알아볼 테니까 (알아보다 + ㄹ 테니까) → 예약할 테니까 (예약하다 + ㄹ 테니까)
